Concrete lifting prices in Utah County
These are typical ranges for mudjacking and polyurethane foam lifting in Utah County. They are not a bid. Every slab is different, and asking for a quote is free.
Typical ranges
A common way to talk about price is about $3–$8 per square foot. That number is a starting point, not a calculator. A single sidewalk panel is often $300–$600. A patio is often $500–$1,500. A driveway is often $1,000–$3,000. Across ordinary residential jobs, a rough average is about $800–$1,250.
Small trips and whole driveways sit on opposite sides of that average. A one-panel sidewalk can cost more per foot than a large driveway because the crew still has to come out.
| Job | Typical range |
|---|---|
| Per square foot | about $3–$8 |
| Sidewalk panel | $300–$600 |
| Patio | $500–$1,500 |
| Average residential job | about $800–$1,250 |
| Driveway | $1,000–$3,000 |
Prices vary with the slab, access, how far it has sunk, and whether the job uses mudjacking or polyurethane foam. These are typical Utah County ranges, not a bid. Quotes are free.
What changes the price
- How many square feet, and how many separate panels have to move.
- How far the slab has dropped. A deeper void takes more material.
- Access for the hose: a backyard gate, a steep side yard, or a deck that is hard to reach.
- Mudjacking versus polyurethane foam. Foam usually costs more per square foot and weighs much less.
- Whether a section is too damaged to lift and has to be replaced instead.
- A minimum trip charge. One sidewalk square is not “$3 times 20.”
Utah County’s freeze-thaw season and heavy irrigation mean a lot of jobs are one or two panels, not an entire driveway. Pool decks and stamped patios take more care around coping and joints. Garage floors need the door clearance checked so a lift does not bind the door.
Mudjacking, in plain language
Mudjacking, also called slabjacking, drills holes about 1.5 to 2 inches wide and pumps a cement-and-soil slurry under the slab. The pressure raises the concrete. The holes are patched. The slurry is heavy, which can be a drawback on soft or very wet ground. Foot traffic is often fine the same day. Ask before you park a car on it.
It is usually the lower-cost option, and it is a fair default for a sound exterior driveway panel on reasonably dry soil.
Polyurethane foam, in plain language
Polyjacking, or foam lifting, uses smaller holes, often about 5/8 inch. A two-part foam expands under the slab, fills the void, and lifts. It weighs far less than slurry and cures in minutes. You can usually drive on it the same day. It costs more.
It is often chosen for interior garage floors, pool decks, and slabs where adding the weight of cement slurry is a bad idea — including some of the wetter ground near Utah Lake in Saratoga Springs, west Orem, and Provo’s River Bottoms.
When lifting is a poor fit
Neither method fixes concrete that is already the wrong material for the job you want.
- Crumbling, badly scaled, or raveling concrete. Lifting raises it and leaves the bad surface.
- A panel cracked into pieces that will not move together. Replace that section.
- A sidewalk tented by a tree root that is still growing. The root has to be dealt with.
- A drainage problem you leave in place. The slab can sink again if water keeps washing out the base.
- A heaved section that needs to come out, not go up. Lifting the low side is not the same as cutting out a high spot.
A useful quote tells you which of these you have. If someone will only talk about a pump and will not talk about replacement, water, or roots, ask them to.
How a quote works
You tell us the city, the kind of slab, and roughly what is wrong. We pass that to a local concrete lifting pro. They look at the slab — usually in person — and give you a price before any work. There is no charge for the quote. You are not required to hire anyone.
Utah County Concrete Lifting is not the contractor. We connect homeowners with local pros. City-specific notes are on the pages for Lehi, Saratoga Springs, American Fork, Orem, and Provo.
